Looking Out For Your Knee
The major point in keeping a healthy lifestyle is to keep fit and to keep moving. Being active and mobile allows you to keep your muscles tone and trim, and also maintains a circle of benefits for your health. Of course, having key balance is still needed. Having balance also benefits your knees.
Always be fit and trim. At least in a good sizable body that warrants your build. Your heart would not be the only one desperately pumping blood around your body. Your knees would also experience a whole load of stress. Just imagine this tiny part of the body carrying almost all of your upper body, hips and thighs. No wonder there is much ruckus about the knee, it almost carries the same strain as your heart!
Shoes are also one factor that can make or break your knees. If you’re a guy, then you should just find the comfiest shoes that are available. Make sure that you feel the pressure beneath your heels, and not on your legs. For girls, keep anything short to a one-inch heel. Anything taller and it will start straining your heel, your legs and then your knees. The padding on the heel is important, make sure that the pressure from all that standing is focused on your heels and not on your knees.
This is a little tidbit of common sense. But avoid doing exercises that attack your knees. Impossible squats are some of these. Just imagine after a long day’s work, you do these exercises. For whatever weakened state your knees were in, you would have probably killed them because of overwork. When doing your routine work, take time to sit down and let your knees relax.
Improper knee posture can also seriously affect your knees in the long run. If you see that you are bow-legged, or have any posture-related affliction, do see a doctor immediately. It makes you look awkward in front of a lot of people plus, it will affect you at your life’s end. Calcium from milk and dairy products are a serious requirement for strengthening your bones and your knees. So keep a healthy diet and avoid calcium leeching foods like sodas and cigarette smoking.
